Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work? You begin with an in-person meeting with your mentor to get to know one another. After that, sessions can take place in person or on the phone.
How long will I work with my mentor? Sessions continue for as long as you desire. You can work with a mentor for just one session or many more. There is no “usual” amount of time because it depends on each client’s individual situation.
What happens during a session? Mentoring sessions focus on the most important issues affecting your financial life. The goal for each session is to determine the most important steps you can take to move toward your goals. Your mentor will help you problem-solve and make a plan for moving forward.
How much does it cost? Participation in the Master Money Mentors program is absolutely free.
What if I don't like my mentor? We can match you with another mentor.
Why should I participate in this program? The short answer is that you should participate because you want to gain more control over your finances. Your mentor will work with you on whatever your individual need is – from helping you establish a monthly budget to cleaning up your credit. Money management is a skill that you can learn and your mentor can teach you those skills.
Will my mentor try to sell me any products or services? No. In fact, our mentors are not allowed to solicit you for any kind of business. Mentoring sessions are all about education and problem solving.
Can I bring my spouse to my sessions? Yes!
